Another thing that I saw a few guys doing at the Nats yesterday. I’ve never really taken too much notice to this before until it happened to me.

A fellow rider in the race had completely blown and had conceded to being nearly dropped (Charles Howlett is his name).   Before opening up too much of a gap and pulling out to leave me stranded with a massive gap to close, he offered his hand and gave me a madison sling to help me back up to the bunch.   As soon as he grabbed my hand it forced me forwards and accelerated me back up to the bunch with no problems.  Now that’s the courteous PRO thing to do!

So, the next time your head has popped off and you know that you’re gonna be dropped at any second,  don’t just open up a gap and pull off.  Do the right thing!
