Goulburn to Sydney Cycle Classic

The Goulburn to Sydney Cycle Classic was held over the weekend and it's a race that I've long wanted to. It's Australia's second oldest bike race which was established in 1902. That's one year older than the Tour de France. Back in the day over 80 years ago Sir Hubart Opperman held the 170km race record of 5hrs 22mins 30secs along the same route (this year they covered it in 3:45!). The race starts in Goulburn, Australia’s first inland city, and finishes in the historic town of Camden.

Steele “The Hoff” Von Hoff (Genesys Wealth Advisors) who’s had a spectacular season and took the road stage honors yesterday. With a name like Steele Von Hoff, he was destined to win bike races. Not only that, from what I understand he also has incredible peak power and puts a 10m gap into his competitors with his initial kick and manages to hold them off in the bunch finishes. At only 23 years old, he’s gonna be a star.

You can find a very good race report on the KMDRacing.com blog.
