A long transition stage will complete the second week of the Tour. It’s hard to imagine that it might escape the sprinters, who will be very tempted by a fabulous finish in front of the Roman amphitheatre in Nîmes. But you never know. Last year, no one would have bet on anything other than a bunch sprint at Saint-Amand-Montrond, where we witnessed an incredible coup in the echelons. It was proof that the race is never decided in advance, and that if a tricky wind in a particular region starts blowing, anything can happen.
