Preview: 2015 Tour de France — Stage 19
Saint-Jean-De-Maurienne to La Toussuire-Les Sybelles (138km)
Friday, July 24 | 7:25 a.m. EST – 12:05 p.m. EST
If the hopes of Tour organizers come true, the yellow jersey will still be up for grabs going into stage 19. And this stage is sure to cause some damage. It’s a short route, but one that’s packed with difficulties. It climbs from kilometer zero, starting at the foot of a pass that’s never previously featured, the Col du Chaussy, and climbing for 15.4km. After that, there’s a technical descent, then the climb of the Croix-de-Fer from its toughest side, the Col du Mollard and, to finish, the final ascent to La Toussuire. It’s 138km in total, but there’s barely a meter of at. The overall title may not be fully decided by the finish, but this stage is sure to bring about some spectacle.
