Preview: 2015 Tour de France — Stage 8

Rennes to Mûr de Bretagne (181.5km)

Saturday, July 11 | 7:00 a.m. EST – 11:35 a.m. EST

Stage 8 is another flat stage, but one spiced up with an uphill finish that ranks, in terms of difficulty, between the finishes in Le Havre and Huy. This is the most important of the stages in Brittany, so the organizers have toughened up the finale by adding a two-kilometer false flat. In short, it has everything required for a thrilling finish. The Mûr de Bretagne has an average gradient of 6.8 percent over 2.2 kilometers, with sections of more than 10 percent. We won’t see a Tour contender lose the race here, but it will be a good test.
