Stage 10, 2016 Tour de France

The tenth stage of this year’s Tour will take the riders along a 197km (122.4mi) route from Escaldes-Engordany in Andorra to the French town of Revel. A Category 1 climb right from the gun will make sure the riders are wide awake, but then it’s a long descent and a mostly flat ride to Revel. The Category 3 Côte de Saint-Ferréol (1.8km at 6.6%) throws a wrench into the finale, peaking with just 7km to the finish.

Date: Tuesday, July 12
Start: Escaldes-Engordany
Finish: Revel
Distance: 197km (122mi)
Elevation Gain: 2170m (7119ft)

Comment from race director, Christian Prudhomme: “Not any kind of rider will be able to take off early and shine on this stage made for spectacular attacks. Only the most determined and solid men will manage to seize their chance when leaving Andorra to immediately take on the climb to the Port d’Envalira. And once in Revel, the final 6-kilometre hill leading to the finish line seems made for the most volatile punchers.”
