The municipal court in Austin Texas has issued an arrest warrant for Kaitlin Armstrong in connection with the shooting of Moriah “Mo” Wilson. The charge is murder in the 1st degree.

Wilson, a rising off-road racing star, was shot and killed in an Austin home on May 11th, days before she was scheduled to race in the Gravel Locos event.

Armstrong, 34, had been living with Colin Strickland, an American gravel racer and former winner of Unbound Gravel among other major events. She is listed as Strickland’s “partner and financial guru” on the Wheelhouse Mobile website.

A search warrant was issued earlier this week in relation to a vehicle seen on a neighbor’s security camera near the scene of the crime. Security footage showed the vehicle arriving at the house a few minutes after Wilson returned.

Police allege Wilson was shot at 9:56 pm and found unconscious and bleeding by a friend shortly afterward. Police previously said the shooting “does not appear to be a random act”.
