The counterclockwise circuit has two distinct halves: narrow, hilly back roads at first and long, straight flat highways at the end. The final 15km are likely to be very fast with a tail wind. Gravity racers hopped in their trucks and headed west Friday afternoon, driving 45 miles from Deer Valley, Utah — site of the fourth National Mountain Bike Series event for 2006 — to West Jericho, a suburb of Salt Lake City.
