Ryan Trebon withdraws from world cyclocross team due to illness
Ryan Trebon (Kona-FSA) has withdrawn his name from the U.S. elite men’s team for the cyclocross world championships. Trebon fell ill during a recent trip to California for training and informed USAC cyclocross program manager Marc Gullickson on Thursday that he would not join the team in St. Wendel, Germany, next week. Trebon’s absence means that just four Americans will line up for the elite men’s race January 30.
Denis Menchov: ‘I will go to win the Giro’
The Tour’s loss could be the Giro’s gain. Denis Menchov — just a day after he found his Geox-TMC team was not invited to participate in the 2011 Tour de France – has confirmed he will “race the Giro to win.”
