International Cyclocross returns to North Carolina

On Saturday, November 22nd and Sunday, November 23rd, 2008 the North Carolina Grand Prix will be hosted at Jackson Park in Hendersonville, NC. This is will be the 4th year of the successful UCI sanctioned cyclo-cross races held in Henderson County, NC. A fabulous course that twists and turns, allows racers to gain top notch speeds, and tests their strength riding up “The Wall” has been planned. Some of the countries’ top cyclo-cross racers will be competing for a purse of over $7,100.00.

On Saturday, November 22nd and Sunday, November 23rd, 2008 the North Carolina Grand Prix will be hosted at Jackson Park in Hendersonville, NC. This is will be the 4th year of the successful UCI sanctioned cyclo-cross races held in Henderson County, NC. A fabulous course that twists and turns, allows racers to gain top notch speeds, and tests their strength riding up “The Wall” has been planned. Some of the countries’ top cyclo-cross racers will be competing for a purse of over $7,100.00.

The North Carolina Grand Prix is the highlight of the North Carolina Cyclo-Cross Series. Both of the NCGP races will award racers series points towards the NC series. Races for all ability levels and ages will be held at the NCGP on both days. Races on both days will begin at 9:30am for the Master’s racers and end at 2:45pm with the Men’s CX2,3 race. A free kid’s race for those 10 and under will be held at 11:30 am both days. The showcase events of the ELITE Women and ELITE men will race at 12:15pm and 1:30pm respectively.

New this year is free entry fees for the UCI ELITE fields. Simply pre –register online (can be accessed though the website) and once the race is completed, entry fees will be reimbursed. Be sure not to miss this fabulous chance to earn valuable UCI points for free.
