Kristen Armstrong tops in Nature Valley opener
Kristin Armstrong waited until the rain let up to lay down the fastest time in the opening stage of the Nature Valley Grand Prix Wednesday morning. Armstrong (Peanut Butter & Co.-Twenty12) took control of the five-day race with a time of 14:30 in the 6.1-mile stage 1 Saint Paul Riverfront Time Trial.

Phil Zajicek admits doping and cover-up, suspended for life
The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency has announced the life-time suspension of former Fly V Australia rider Phil Zajicek after he admitted to a second doping offense for purchasing erythropoietin (EPO), and a third doping offense for providing false testimony at an American Arbitration Association (AAA) panel hearing, as well as encouraging other witnesses to provide false testimony.

Rory Sutherland’s third place on the mountaintop stage-four finish may have surprised many fans, but flying form in California has been the plan for 2011 for the 29-year old since his seventh overall finish last year.
