The Oregon Pro Cycling Classic can count itself among North America’s best professional bicycle races. USA Cycling recently announced that Oregon Pro will garner the top ranking on the prestigious National Racing Calendar. The women's race also now boasts a top international designation on the UCI calendar. These rankings will ensure the highest quality fields of racers and top notch media coverage.
Hoy avoids stranding in Thailand
Four-time Olympic gold medalist Chris Hoy has managed to skirt a Thailand airport shutdown by hitching a ride on a transport plane, his father reported Sunday. Hoy and his girlfriend were on holiday in the country and were due to fly out of Bangkok, but the airport was shut down by anti-government protests, his agent Ricky Cowan told The Scotsman newspaper. Drawing on contacts of Hoy's sponsor DHL Logistics, they were able to get a flight out of Phuket instead, heading to Singapore.

The VisitPA.com Pennsylvania State Cyclocross Championships take place this Saturday, November 29, in Allentown. For the first time, cyclocross organizers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region have set aside the upcoming weekend for the various state and regional championship races, with the result that the all of the state championships have raised their profile and seem to be benefitting from the general perception that a state championship carries more significance than it has in the past. Kentucky ‘cross championships this weekend
Championship cyclocross racing returns to Louisville on Sunday, November 30 for the Zipp OVCX Tour’s “Storm the Greens”. Held at Champion’s Park, the same venue as the Papa Johns Derby City Cup USGP series opener earlier this year, this year’s Storm the Greens races also serve as the Kentucky State Championships. And though the event serves as Kentucky’s championship event, riders from throughout the Midwest will be competing.
