Het Nieuwsblad reports that former world cyclocross champion Zdenek Stybar will return to the dirt for the Kerstperiode races during Christmas week in Belgium. Now more-or-less devoted to his road career with Etixx-Quick-Step, Stybar initially seemed unlikely to race ‘cross this year. However, on Tuesday, he confirmed his participation in four races: Antwerp, Loenhout, Baal, and Leuven.

Stybar injured his shoulder racing cyclocross in Ardooie last season. He recovered and went on to win stage 6 of the Tour de France in 2015.
