PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (VN) — Expect good racing and good eating at the fourth annual Providence Cyclocross Festival.

Whole Foods, California Giant Berry Farms and Clif Bar will be dishing up the grub during the second round of the Shimano New England Professional Cyclocross Series, slated Oct. 6-7 at Roger Williams Park in Providence.

Whole Foods will serve samples of its natural groceries; California Giant — title sponsor of the Cal Giant-Specialized cycling team — will hand out fresh berries for riders and spectators; and Clif Bar, a longtime supporter of cyclocross through its Luna and Clif Bar teams, will offer a buffet of its products at the staging area.

Other sponsors include Pilot Freight Services, MetLife, TD Bank and Shimano, title sponsor of the NEPCX.

Pilot Freight, a transportation and logistics company, will help move vendors, sponsors and fans in and out of the event. TD Bank is underwriting The Family Zone and will team up with MetLife on Sunday’s kids’ races. And Shimano will showcase its CX70 line of ’cross components.
