Canada’s Lori-Ann Muenther followed her sprint bronze by taking the 500 meters silver in 35.151. Katrin Meinke of Germany placed third with 35.356.
Natalia Markovnichenka of Belarus defended the title she won at Manchester last year despite suffering with a shoulder injury that forced her out of the sprint event. She recorded the fourth fastest of the day, 35.371.
