Filippo Pozzato scores hat trick at 2013 Trofeo Laigueglia

Pozzato, who also won the Trofeo Laigueglia in 2003 and 2004, is the first to win three editions of the event

ROME (AFP — Filippo Pozzato (Lampre) won the Trofeo Laigueglia on Saturday for the third time in his career.

Pozzato, who also won the race in 2003 and 2004, out-sprinted Francesco Reda (Androni Venezuela) and Mauro Santambrogio (Vini Fantini) to take the 50th edition of the 196.5km event.

He is the first rider to win the race three times.
