Chloe Hosking (Hitec Products) won stage 1 of the Ladies Tour of Qatar on Tuesday in Mesaieed. Hosking topped a four-up sprint to take the overall lead in the three-day event.
Gracie Elvin (Orica-AIS) was second and Lisa Brennauer (Specialized-lululemon) finished third. Liesbeth De Vocht was fourth (Rabo Women), rounding out the group, which held the peloton at 10 seconds across the line.
American Shelley Olds (Tibco-To the Top) posted the top U.S. result on the 97km stage, with eighth.
The Ladies Tour of Qatar continues Wednesday with the 96km second stage from the Camel Race Track to Al Khor Corniche.
