Ina-Yoko Teutenberg wins second stage at 2010 Giro Donne
Ina-Yoko Teutenberg won her second consecutive stage at the Giro Donne on Saturday, taking a bunch sprint ahead of Giorgia Bronzini and Marianne Vos.

Stage 2: Sacile – Riese Pio X (130km)
Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (HTC-Columbia) won her second consecutive stage at the Giro Donne on Saturday, taking a bunch sprint ahead of Giorgia Bronzini (Gauss RDZ Ormu) and Marianne Vos (Nederland Bloeit).
“We had some pretty clear tactics today. We wanted to win the stage and keep the race lead at least up until Sunday’s time trial and that’s exactly what we’ve managed to do,” said HTC-Columbia team manager Ronny Lauke. “One rider made a long individual breakaway but we managed to keep the race under control and with 10 kilometers to go we’d brought her back.
“Ina’s teammates set her up perfectly for a the finish, a 300-meter straightaway with a slight downhill, and she finished off their good work without any problems at all. The team now goes into the time trial feeling motivated and confident and we’re pretty sure of a great result.”
American Shelley Evans was the top finisher for the U.S. National Team, slotting into fourth behind Vos.
“The whole team was protecting our two leaders all through the stage,” U.S. team manager Manel Lacambra said. “In the last kilometers the team was working to lead out Shelley for the sprint. We are happy we were not involved in the massive crash in the last kilometer, and every day we are racing better.”
