Ljungskog leads, Arndt still in second overall; the Tour de l’Aude concludes Sunday.
High Road speedster Ina Yoko Teutenberg won her second stage of the Tour de l'Aude on Saturday. Teutenberg was the fastest in a group of some 30 riders that broke away on the hilly eighth stage, starting and finishing in the town of Bram. “I was a bit lucky because I was really tired after getting into the break and it was windy, too.” Teutenberg said. “Another rider went for it on the other side of the road at the finish and I thought it would be close but I finally won by about a bike length.”

“(Teammates) Judith [Arndt] and Linda [Villumsen] were with me in the break and they did a great job of pulling back the moves. The attacks kept going but Judith kept on pulling them back.”
“I was by myself in the finale, but that was only logical after all the work my teammates had had to do. It was up to me to do the rest. I just positioned myself well and sat on wheels through to the finish. After everything they had done for me, the least I could do was try as hard as possible to go for the win.”
Going into Sunday’s final stage, Sweden’s Susanne Ljungskog leads Arndt, who is in second, by 3:38 on the GC. Americans Amber Neben and Christine Thornburn are in eighth and ninth place. Teutenberg is 36th.
