Shawn Milne (Keough Cyclocross-Felt Bicycles) and Laura Van Gilder (Van Dessel-Mellow Mushroom Pizza) won day two of the 23rd Cycle-Smart International on Sunday.

In the men’s race, Milne, round-one winner Raphael Gagne (Rocky Mountain Factory), Curtis White (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) and Mike Garrigan (Van Dessel) were up front, with Gagne pushing the pace until he crashed in the final lap.

First White attacked, then Milne, and it was the latter’s move that stuck — the Keough rider went on to take the win while Gagne fought his way back up to finish second. White held on for third.

The women’s race was in part a replay of the men’s, in that the rider who won Saturday’s race had to settle for second on Sunday.

While Van Gilder managed the race to perfection, staying up front throughout and unleashing her trademark sprint on the finishing pavement, Crystal Anthony (Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies) took the runner-up spot ahead of Emma White (Cyclocrossworld.com).
