Tour de France favorite Andy Schleck (Saxo Bank) dodged a bullet Saturday when he crashed while on a training ride.

Schleck, second overall in last year’s Tour, was left with various cuts and scrapes, but was otherwise not seriously injured.

“Was out training with (Frank), hit a big bump in the road, went down pretty hard,” Schleck wrote on Twitter. “Lost quite a lot of skin all over my body, but will be OK.”

A photo revealed gashes to Schleck’s elbow, knees, hands and chin. It’s not sure if the younger Schleck brother will be starting Sunday’s Luxembourg national championship race.
