Van Emden wins Eneco TT, takes overall lead
LottoNL-Jumbo goes one-two in Eneco Tour time trial, moving Jos van Emden into GC lead with teammate Wilco Kelderman close behind.

Jos van Emden rode to his first victory of the season on Thursday in the Eneco Tour’s stage 4 time trial. It was a banner day for the Dutchman and his LottoNL-Jumbo squad as his teammate, Wilco Kelderman, finished only five seconds behind in second place at the end of the 13.9km test in Hoogerheide, Belgium. Adriano Malori (Movistar) rounded out the podium, seven seconds behind.
“My fifth place in the Tour [stage 1 TT] was nice but winning is something different, especially at WorldTour level,” Van Emden said in a team statement. “At the moment, I cannot choose between the two yet. I’ll put them equally side by side.”

With his win, van Emden moved into the overall race lead, and now, the top-three GC standings reflect the day’s TT results, with Kelderman second and Malori third.
“It’s business as usual tomorrow,” said van Emden. “I won’t start thinking that I can win the race now. I might be able keep the jersey tomorrow but in the Ardennes it’s going to be too difficult for me, and as a team, we’ll be riding for Wilco there.”
On Friday, stage 5 will run from Riemst to Sittard-Geleen over 179.6 kilometers.
