Leah Thomas has been recovering from a neck injury sustained early in the year, but it hasn’t stopped her from putting up some top results this season.
Back in June, the 33-year-old won the US Pro Championships time trial. And more recently, she showed good form in last weekend’s UCI Road World Championships elite time trial, taking fifth place.
We got a closer look at her Trek Speed Concept time trial bike before worlds last weekend. It’s built up with Bontrager and Zipp wheels and a SRAM Red groupset.
Thomas’ Trek Segafredo team issued time trial bike is a Trek Speed Concept built up with a Bontrager Aeoulus RSL 75 front wheel and a Zipp disc wheel.
This SRAM Red power meter crankset is equipped with 54/41T chainrings for pushing over a big gear.
The sleek cockpit includes a GPS mount nestled between the arm rests.
The Bontrager Aeoulus RSL 75 is the deepest wheel in the Bontrager lineup.
The Bontrager Hilo Pro Carbon saddle features a short nose to help Thomas get into an optimal position on the bike.
Team USA mechanics were busy bleeding the bike’s brakes to make sure it was in top shape for the race.
