It would seem almost impossible to improve on Castelli’s Bodypaint bib shorts, but the company seems to have done it with the Mondiale. Castelli reduces the number of seams and panels on these bibs by bonding the straps and using “no-sew” side panels. The result is a bib short without uncomfortable seams, with one of the best chamois in the business. This is Italian clothing at its finest.

In both looks and feel, the results are notably smooth, and it’s all wrapped around the Italian company’s relatively thin yet plush Progetto X2 chamois.

Note: Castelli apparel tends to run small, so consider sizing up.
