Easton Cycling’s new gravel components have been making all the headlines lately – like the new super compact rings for the Easton EC 90SL cranks – but let’s not forget, much of what has made Easton so successful are cockpit components. Bars, saddles and stems can be easy to overlook, but they are hugely important when it comes to fit, ride feel, and security. Easton’s may be the easiest to overlook because they work so well and so effortlessly, essentially forever. But, spare a few moments for the new Easton stems and seat posts, and you’ll see why so many riders swear by them.

EA90 | EA70 | EA50 ICM Stems and Computer Mount
The new EA90 ICM stem, Easton’s top alloy stem, got bigger to go on a diet. The extension is actually larger in diameter, which allowed Easton to actually reduce the material used. The result is a stiffer stem that weighs less. A 100mm EA90 is just 120grams! ICM refers to a new Garmin carbon computer mount that integrates with the new Easton stem’s face plates in manner similar to Trek’s Blendr set up. Hopefully, Lezyne and Wahoo mounts will follow. The mount is included with the EA90 and sold separately for the EA70 and EA50 ICM stems. EA90 lengths range from 70mm to 130mm, and 0° and +/- 7° angle options, we to accommodate the vast majority of fit needs.

Both the EA70 and EA50 provide a multitude of fit options, with both +/- 7° and +/-17° in sizes from 70mm – 120mm. While weights increase a bit over the EA90, they offer a great stem at a compelling price and are ICM computer mount compatible, but the mount is not included with these stems, costing an extra $12. These stems are sure to be a staple on bikes for years to come.

EC70 SL | EA90 ISA Seat Posts
A seat post is hugely important, and for a lot more than just dialing in the most important fit metric – saddle height – other than tires, no other component can so drastically impact ride quality. They can create a subtle flex to deliver in the saddle comfort, but need to be stiff enough to handle big power when you sit on the nose of your saddle and hit the throttle. Of course, it better be easy to adjust. We’ve all battled with seat posts that won’t tilt accurately, or hold the right position when you clamp them down, or seat posts that seem impossible to adjust, leaving no room to twist a wrench. Easton’s looking to solve those problems with a new ISA system – Independent Saddle Adjustment.

ISA lets you keep your rails locked in place as you adjust the saddle’s tilt. No longer does loosening one bolt leave your saddle slack in the rails. Two pitch adjustment bolts lock the angle into place as if you were adjusting limit screws, delivering adjustability and security. A side bolt locks the rails and the two pitch bolts responsible for tilt are accessed almost horizontally to the top tube, allowing your hex key access to all bolts unencumbered by the seat post.

The EC90 ISA seat post utilizes Easton’s great carbon know-how for impeccable ride quality and ultra light weight, while the EC70 ISA puts this new adjustment system in a very affordable post with very little weight penalty. Both are available in 20mm and Zero setback configurations and are 350mm long, requiring 80mm of insertion.

EC70 SL ISA Seatpost: WEIGHT: ZERO – 210g / SETBACK – 223g, MATTE BLACK EC70 UD CARBON / MATTE BLACK HEAD, OFFSET: 0mm, 20mm, LENGTH: 350mm WITH 80mm MIN INSERT, Diameter 27. 2mm
