September 15, 2014 – While yesterday’s Vuelta win may have salvaged Alberto Contador’s season it provided a number of brands with a 2014 Grand Tour victory as well. For Specialized it was its second win after Nibali’s triumph at Le Tour but for SRAM it provided them with a much needed win after being shut out at the Giro and Tour. With Froome failing to best Contador it left Shimano shut out of overall Grand Tour victory for the first time in many seasons.
