Specialized rider Rebecca Rusch has had her way with the women’s field during the last two years of the Leadville 100, last year setting a new course record at 7:47 and besting second placed Amanda Carey by 25 minutes. But this year, don’t expect such an easy ride for the self-proclaimed Queen of Pain.

Among a handful of fast women set to face-off with Rusch are top riders such as Jenny Smith, Kelli Emmett, Gretchen Reeves and Sari Anderson.

Anderson, who lives in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, along with her husband and two children, is a veteran of the endurance racing game, having scored top finishes in everything from the Winter Xterra World’s to the U.S. National Marathon Championships to the 24 Hours of Moab.

At Leadville, she’ll be gunning for a podium placing aboard a Trek Superfly Elite 29er with Stan’s No Tubes ZTR race wheels and a SRAM XO gruppo. She’ll also be bolstered by support team that includes husband Ian, daughter Juniper and son Axel.
