2011 NAHBS, opening night at Mellow Johnny's
Plenty of fixed gear bikes were ridden to Rapha's movie event.

AUSTIN, Texas (VN) — Don Walker started the North American Handmade Bicycle show seven years ago. That first show took place in Houston, Texas and has returned to the Lone Star state this year, this time in Austin. From Friday, February 25th to Sunday the 27th, some of the world’s best frame builders will show their wares. VeloNews tech editor Nick Legan will be there to cover it.

The show kicked off unofficially at Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop Thursday night, with a Rapha world premiere of its latest movie: “The Rapha Continental.” Beloved, Cielo, Naked and Parlee had bicycles on display. New Belgium had free beer and a Korean BBQ taco truck had Asian fusion food on offer.

Here are a few interesting tech shots from the gathering. Much more to come!
