The Dogma K8 seems to be a cross between the Dogma K8-S and the Dogma F8; the new design likely addresses lateral stiffness and/or weight concerns. Note the Pinarello Lab designation on the seat tube. Photo: Dan Cavallari | VeloNews
Michal Kwiatkowski takes to the cobbles with Pinarello’s Dogma K8, an unreleased bicycle that shares many traits with the K8-S. Noticeably absent: the rear damper. Photo: Dan Cavallari | VeloNews

Whereas the Dogma K8-S relies on a damper that connects the seat stays to the seat tube, the K8 likely relies on tube shapes for compliance. Flattened chain stays help provide some much-needed give and flex on the Flandrian cobbles. Photo: Dan Cavallari | VeloNews
Another look at the chain stays shows just how drastically they are shaped. There’s some curve to the seat stays as well. We don’t recommend running your chain that short, by the way. Photo: Dan Cavallari | VeloNews

Where are we going? Where have we been? Riders keep track of upcoming climbs and key parts of the course with stickers on the top tube. Photo: Dan Cavallari | VeloNews
Creative cutting on the number plate makes it mesh with the curves of the frame. Photo: Dan Cavallari | VeloNews
Kwiatkowski rides an outboard bearing bottom bracket. Even more interesting, it’s a threaded BSA standard — no BB30 or PF30 here. Photo: Dan Cavallari | VeloNews
Waxed chains and CeramicSpeed optimized chains were common sights in the pits. Wax helps keep dirt away from the drivetrain and also helps save watts. CeramicSpeed chains go further than that, scrubbing away imperfections in the chain and adding a Teflon power that supposedly saves the rider energy. Photo: Dan Cavallari | VeloNews
