That’s right: every Time bicycle begins life in a cardboard box as a roll of raw carbon fiber strand.

If you don’t already have a copy of the 2010 VeloNews Buyer’s Guide, keep your eyes peeled: it should be available in shops by this time next week.

It’s our biggest issue of the year in terms of tech, with product reviews, photo essays, and more than 120 of the best bikes we could find. One of the feature stories is my trip through France, with stops at Mavic, Time, Look, and Cyfac. After spending a long day with Mavic, I spent the night in Lyon and headed for Time’s modern production center just outside of the city.
