July 9, 2015 – Yellow jersey wearer Tony Martin is out of the Tour de France after breaking his collarbone in a crash at the climax of Thursday’s sixth stage, his team director Patrick Lefevere said.
“It is impossible for Tony to start Friday’s stage,” Lefevere told French radio station Europe 1.
The 30-year-old German — who took the overall lead on Tuesday — is the second yellow jersey wearer to exit the race in a matter of days after Fabian Cancellara bowed out on Monday with two broken vertebrae.
