May 26, 2015 – The 2015 Giro d’Italia has turned into a complete showdown between Astana and Alberto Contador. On Tuesday’s stage 16, Fabio Aru and Mikel Landa would once again attack the Giro’s pink jersey holder, yet he would sustain the pressure of one, but not both, Astana riders. Contador took off as Fabio Aru became unhitched on the penultimate climb, Aru’s teammate Mikel Landa would follow, then attack and drop the Tinkoff-Saxo rider as he rode into the stage victory and second place on GC. Our photographer Yuzuru Sunada captured the stage on his camera, enjoy!
