Dec 13, 2015 – On the heels of its most successful year yet, the Hincapie Racing Team will return for 2016 as the Holowesko | Citadel Racing Team presented by Hincapie Sportswear with two current supporters stepping in as co-title sponsors. Mavic also joins for 2016, and Felt returns as bicycle provider.

2015 brought wins at the AMGEN Tour of California, USA Cycling Team Time Trial National Championships, UCI Winston-Salem Cycling Classic, Cascade Cycling Classic, and the North Star Gran Prix, plus podiums at the Tour of Utah, USA Pro Cycling Challenge, Tour of Alberta and the USA Cycling Criterium National Championships.

The team is readying for its first 2016 objective, the Tour de San Luis (it will also be first time racing it). Chief Sports Director Thomas Craven plans to send the following squad: Oscar Clark, Travis McCabe, Robin Carpenter, Miguel Bryon, Jon Hornbeck and Rob Squire.

Craven added the following: “We’ll really try for a couple stages but the overall is not something we’re targeting. We’ll bring our usual aggressive racing style but also understand this race’s timing and how it fits into other goals later in the season.”

“I am excited and proud to continue my support of this team and the Hincapie family,” said Mark Holowesko. “George and Rich continue to produce a program and team that is able to compete at the highest levels of cycling while concentrating on development of riders and the sport. This combination of successful competition and development is unparalleled in cycling and it is exciting to be part of the program next year.”

Investment management company Citadel, a supporter since 2014, also sought to step into a bigger role, noting the opportunities provided to up-and-coming professionals.

“Rich and George Hincapie are doing incredible work to provide the next generation with an opportunity to pursue their goals as professional cyclists,” said Ken Griffin, CEO, Citadel. “I’m very proud of what these young riders have accomplished and to support the team again in 2016, both as a sponsor and as a fan.”

Mavic, one of the most recognized brands in cycling, also joins as a sponsor supplying Cosmic Carbone Ultimate and the brand new Ksyrium Pro Carbon SL line of race wheels, among others. Felt Bicycles returns for a third year providing F and AR Series road bikes and DA time trial frames, which were ridden to a 2015 Team Time Trial National Championship.
