Sand Creek Sports will host the Carmichael Training Systems International Classic on July 10 and 11 in Colorado Springs. The USA Cycling Pro XCT and US Cup cross-country race will be the final event of the 2010 Pro XCT series.
The race will be at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in the shadow of NORAD. The 5.5 mile-per-lap course provided great Colorado racing last June as a US Cup and Pro XCT race.
For 2010, as the Series final and with more UCI points awarded, the Carmichael Training Systems International Classic will be one of the most important mountain bike races in the country.
The Carmichael Training Systems International Classic will be part of the Carmichael Training Systems Summer of Cycling, which will also include the Ascent Cycling Summer Series and the Rocky Mountain State Games Mtb Race held at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Additional, though tentative, races include the Colorado State Senior Road Race Championships and a road race up Pikes Peak.
