The 2025 Tour Divide is a sea of interesting and unique people riding bikes of all kinds. Artist Quinda Verheul is among them, and is sporting a unique bike to match.

Off the bike, Verheul is known for creating sculptures and 2d works with raw materials like sand, concrete, and rocks. She takes inspiration from experiencing new landscapes on the bike.

That translates to a passion for not only the performance of a bike but also the visual details. Verheul is riding a pink Orbea OIZ with bronze logos. She’s then changed out the flat bars for a set of 55cm Curve Walmer bars that offer the extra hand positions of drop bars. There are also PRO Missile aerobars for even more positions and the Fizik Argo X1 saddle provides a perch for the long miles ahead with a OneUp dropper post supporting it. Hope pedals round out the touch points and ride tracking plus navigation is courtesy of a Coros Dura bike computer.

Looking at the mechanicals, Verheul starts with SRAM. The drivetrain is electronic SRAM XO AXS and upfront there’s SRAM Rival AXS D2 levers on the drop bars. Suspension is as it comes from Orbea on a variety of builds with a FOX 34 Factory SC fork and FOX Float SL factory shock. Brakes are taken care of with Hope X2 brakes using 180 mm floating rotors.

For wheels, Verheul didn’t specify but the 30 visible points towards the Oquo MP30 carbon wheelset. On top of that there’s a set of Schwalbe Thunder Burt, 2.35″, Super Ground, tires front and rear. There’s also a SON dynamo hub in the front wheel powering a kLite lighting system.

Quinda Verheul 2025 Tour Divide bag setup
As mentioned, Verheul is an artist, and that’s reflected in the Tailfin bag setup she’s using.
As told by her, “the bike is decorated with Tailfin custom-painted bags, designed to match the frame and logo colors with strong references to rocky mountain landscapes. The idea is for the paint and colors to blend beautifully with the dust and mud of the road ahead.” Verheul goes on to say that “especially for the Tour Divide, I requested a prototype aerobar bag. As an R&D rider, I’ll report back on how it performs.” Along with the aerobar bag, Verheul is using “a full frame bag and Aeropack.”

Inside the bags, there’s a Hyperlite tent with “loads of snacks in the side panels” in the front. The frame bag houses “water storage and toiletries” with “easy-access items (wallet, passport, etc.)” on the left side. In the top tube bag there are “even more snacks,” the downtube bag has tools, the sleep system is at the rear and there’s rain gear in the left pannier with a clean kit in the right pannier. A Carrie Gere vest handles snacks and chapstick.
