Thursday night was the national debut of the documentary on the Leadville Trial 100 mountain bike race — “Race Across the Sky II.”
Unlike the 2009 film, this year’s take on the LT 100 didn’t focus on some guy named Lance beating some guy named Dave. Sure, the drama of the lung-busing elevation remains, as do the compelling human-interest stories.
Dave Wiens is still in the story, as are a host of newcomers to the race, including Levi Leipheimer, Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski, Todd Wells and Jeremiah Bishop.
So, what did ya think of the film? Did you go? Did you like it? Hate it? Inspired? Laugh? Cry?
Go ahead and channel your inner Siskel and Ebert. If you missed the first screening, there is a repeat showing on Nov. 9.
