Schultz, Davison named in the Olympic team
The strongest US riders to represent the US in London have been announced

The Olympic team will be made up of two former Olympians and two new to the games.
Georgia Gould secured her slot by ranking within the top-10 in the individual UCI World Cup rankings. She also had a top-5 World Cup finish this year, which didn’t hurt her chances.
Finishing seventh in the 2011 world championships was the biggest factor in electing Todd Wells to the team. He has competed in two Olympic games. He also was in the top 20 in the World Cup four times in the past year.
Lea Davison got the nomination for having finished in the top 10 at three World Cup or world championship races in the past two years.
Sam Schultz had the highest World Cup ranking this year and will also attend the London games.
“We have a strong team going to London with a solid combination of experience, leadership and young talented athletes who are all capable of standout performances,” said USA Cycling V.P. of Athletics Jim Miller. “Each member of the team is deserving, we’re proud to welcome them as a part of Team USA and look forward to a promising Olympic Games.”
The women are scheduled to race at Hadleigh Farm in Essex on August 11, 2012, followed by the men the following day at the same venue.
