Two-time national cyclocross champion Ryan Trebon (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) and Rabobank-Giant Offroad rider Adam Craig will host a Q&A session at the second annual CXmas Party in Bend, Oregon, next week. The party benefits junior ‘cross racers, with proceeds going to the CXmas Junior Fund to provide travel stipends for Oregon junior racers competing at this year’s national cyclocross championship in Madison, Wisconsin.
The party, which last year raised $1,400 for the fund, will also feature a silent auction and a photography exhibit, “The Art of Cyclocross.” The auction will feature, among other locally-donated items, signed jerseys from Trebon and Cannondale teammate, three-time elite national champion Tim Johnson.
“We’ve reached out and asked people to donate, and we’ve had a great showing of support, and that’s what it takes to keep cycling growing, not just as a sport, but as a way of life,” said party host Bart Bowen.
The CXmas party will take place on December 6 at Powered by Bowen in Bend, before the Trek U.S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross Deschutes Brewery Cup.
