Martin wraps up Tour of Poland win

Daniel Martin (Garmin-Transitions) won the Tour of Poland on Saturday.

Andre Greipel (HTC-Columbia) out-kicked Yauheni Hutarovich (Française des Jeux) and Robert Føurster (Milram) to win the the seventh and final stage, a 163.9km leg from Nowy Targ to Krakow.

“During the last three days I didn’t even dare think I could win,” said Martin after achieving his first ProTour victory. “But it’s a dream which has come true and I’m very, very happy.”

Martin, 23, took the race lead after the first mountain stage at Ustron on Thursday. He finished eight seconds ahead of Slovenia’s Grega Bole (Lampre) in the overall standings with Bauke Mollema (Rabobank) third at 10 seconds.
