With a win at Plattekill, New York over the weekend, Aaron Gwin now leads USA Cycling’s Pro Gravity Tour.
Going into round three of the Pro GRT, Gwin was in fourth place overall, but his win over his Trek World Racing teammate Justin Leov pushed him into the series’ top spot.
Leov, meanwhile moved into second place, six points ahead of Cody Warren (DRD X-Fusion Intense). Last week’s standings co-leaders, Neko Mulally (Trek World Racing) and Danny Hart (Giant Factory Off Road Team) tumbled to fourth and fifth. Mulally holds a two-point edge over Hart.
In the Plattekill race, Gwin crossed the finish line two seconds ahead of Leov. Warren was four seconds behind Gwin in third place.
Pro Gravity Tour DH #3 in Plattekill, NY (USA). The Downhill men scored another strong result after qualifying 1-2-3, it was Aaron Gwin (USA) who took the win with Justin Leov (NZL) in 2nd. A simple crash for Neko Mulally (USA) where a front wheel washed out cost him 9 seconds and he ended up 14th.
In qualifying the team managed to hold down the top spots once again with last week’s winner Neko taking 3rd, Aaron holding down 2nd and Justin back on pace to take the top spot.
Women’s Pro GRT
Jacqueline Harmony (All Mountain Cyclery-Vixen Racing) moved into third place in the women’s Pro GRT standings after winning the women’s Plattekill race. Harmony is 60 points behind tour leader, Jill Kintner (Transition Racing), and 20 points behind the weekend’s second-place rider, Joanna Petterson (Specialized). Lauren Daney (Specialized Grom) and Darian Harvey (Vixen Racing) are tied for fourth place.
At Plattekill, Harmony crossed the finish line two-tenths of a second ahead of Petterson and 2.33 seconds ahead of Harvey.

The next Pro GRT race is scheduled for Crested Butte, Colorado on June 25-26. Meanwhile, many North American riders will head to the US Open of Mountain Biking, a gravity event held May 26-29 at the Diablo Freeride Park in northwestern New Jersey. The following weekend is round 2 of the World Cup downhill in Fort William, Great Britain.
