Pre-registration is open for the 2010 Mountain Bike Marathon National Championships in Breckenridge, Colorado.
For the fourth year, the event returns to Breckenridge on the Fourth of July where it will once again be held in conjunction with the Firecracker 50. Riders wishing to compete in USA Cycling’s national championship classes will have a two-week exclusive online registration period from 12:01 a.m. MST, Feb. 17 until 12:01 a.m. MST on March 3.
In 2009, the husband-and-wife duo of Heather Irmiger and Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski took home the Stars-and-Stripes jerseys in their respective fields.
For 2010, the field will be limited to 750 race plates, and because start spots sold out before pre-registration ended last year, riders that want to compete for a Stars-and-Stripes jersey are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the exclusive registration period, according to USAC officials.
Click here to register early and secure a start spot. On March 3, online registration will open to non-championship competitors as well. At that time, a printable registration form and waiver will be posted online for those wishing to mail in their entry.
A total of 14 national titles will be on the line in Breckenridge, including men’s and women’s singlespeed national titles which are new for 2010. Find out more about the Firecracker 50.
