Stander Rolls to World Cup Win at Champéry

Victory follows his U-23 World Championship win in Australia. Austria's Osl takes top spot in women's cross-country.

Fresh off his Under-23 World Championship in Canberra, Australia last weekend, Burry Stander topped Julien Absalon at the second-to-last World Cup stop in Champéry, Switzerland Sunday.

On the women’s side, Elisabeth Osl of Austria topped the field, besting Anna Szafraniec of Poland by about a minute and a half.

Stander, a 22-year-old South African, edged out Absalon of France and the overall World Cup leader, by 15 seconds. For the US, Adam Craig posted a sixth-place finish while Lea Davison finished 12th.
