Amialiusik earns stage 2 win, GC lead at Tour de l’Ardeche

Alena Amialiusik (BePink) won stage 2 at the Tour de l’Ardeche on Wednesday in Vals Les Bains, France.

The stage, a 3.5-kilometer time trial, saw Amialiusik record the best time of 5:15.1, significantly faster than second-place rider and teammate Noemi Cantele (5:24). Finishing third was Linda Villumsen (Wiggle Honda), who clocked in at 5:24.1.

Villumsen won Monday’s opening prologue to take the overall lead, which she lost to Amialiusik on Wednesday. Amialiusik now holds a three-second advantage over Villumsen and an eight-second gap over Jade Wilcoxson (Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies) in the GC.

The race continues this afternoon with stage 3, a 77.4km route from Vals Les Bains to Le Teil.
