Applications for two USA Cycling collegiate cycling scholarships are now available.
One male and one female are eligible for each of the two scholarships, the John Stenner Memorial Scholarship and the Joshua Kuck Memorial Scholarship, both of which carry a minimum award of $1,500.
The John Stenner Memorial Scholarship, named for an early founder of the National Collegiate Cycling Association who was hit by a truck in 1994, rewards a mix of academic standards, athletic achievements, and community service, with a focus on collegiate cycling involvement.
The Joshua Kuck Memorial Scholarship, in honor of a University of the South Florida collegiate cyclist who was killed by a truck while riding in 2007, places an emphasis on community service in cycling, focusing on the advocacy and education of cycling safety.
The two memorial scholarships both receive funding through donations to USA Cycling’s Development Foundation, and are available to full-time collegiate cycling students with current USA Cycling race licenses. The deadline for application is December 3.
The Development Foundation, which awards both scholarships, will announce the winners on December 17.
