Bessette grabs lead at Tour de l’Aude

Bessette, meanwhile, began the day just nine seconds behind race leader race leader Anita Valen (Bik Powerplate). And while she would not win the stage, finishing 1:18 down on Carrigan, Bessette put some serious time on Valen, who crossed 19th on the day at 3.21 down.

Bessette now leads the race by 1:17 over Arndt, with Gollan in third at 1:21. Valen has slipped back into sixth, 1:54 behind Bessette.
