MUSCAT (AFP) — Marcel Kittel of Germany won the third stage of the Tour of Oman race on Thursday, winning the sprint ahead of fellow countryman Andre Greipel and Nacer Bouhanni of France.

Britain’s world champion Mark Cavendish took eighth place.

Greipel, who won the race’s first stage on Tuesday, is once again in the leader’s red jersey, taking it from Peter Sagan of Slovakia.

Friday’s fourth stage covers 142.5 kilometres from Bidbid Naf’a to Al Wadi al Kabir.
