Modolo sprints to stage 3a win at De Panne

DE PANNE, Belgium (AFP) — Italy’s Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Merida) won stage 3a of Driedaagse De Panne (Three Days of De Panne) Thursday.

Modolo, the winner of Wednesday’s stage, won a sprint finish ahead of compatriot Andrea Guardini (Astana) and Dutch rider Kenny van Hummel (Androni Giocattoli).

Belgian Gert Steegmans (Omega Pharma-Quick Step) holds the leader’s jersey before Thursday afternoon’s 14-kilometer individual time trial.
