In all, the top eight consisted of three 7UPs, three Saturns and two Mercurys before Landis-Trek-VWs Scott Price clocked in ninth place.

The women’s race was a familiar story. Jeanson, who has dominated every race she’s been in this year, took the race lead ahead of a trio of Saturn riders: Kimberly Bruckner, Lyne Bessette and Anna Millward. AutoTrader’s Sarah Ulmer rounded out the top 5.

The Gila continues on Thursday with the Mogollon road races, 92-miles for the men and 70 miles for the women, with both groups ending up on the first-category, three-mile climb to the top of Mogollon Pass, at 6800 feet.
