The Scotsman fell behind the peloton in the mountains and now sits way back in the standings after he struggled on the Chamrousse ascent. Moreau is the fifth rider to take the lead in as many days after French duo Didier Rous and Laurent Roux, Belgian Axel Merckx and Millar.
