Greg LeMond, his wife Kathy, and Betsy Andreu — the wife of former Lance Armstrong teammate Frankie Andreu — will talk about the costs of doping and how it has affected professional in cycling on April 22.
The venue for the symposium is the University of Texas in Austin, which happens to be the city where Armstrong, the admitted doper who had his seven Tour de France titles taken away, calls home.
The expert panel is appearing as part of the McGarr Symposium, an annual event on the school’s campus.
The Lemonds and Andreus, outspoken critics of Armstrong who claimed he was taking performance-enhancing drugs during his career, were the victims of a brutal onslaught of Armstrong insults and lies over the years before he came clean and confessed to cheating his way to glory in January.
Andreu will also appear at a panel with Bill Bock, legal counsel from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, at the University of Michigan Law School on Tuesday, April 16. Their presentation is entitled “Lance Armstrong and the U.S. Postal Service Cycling Team: Ethical Dimensions & Implications” and will part of the Law School’s “Experts in Ethics, Civility and Professionalism” series.
